If you choose to eat dairy, make sure it is organic or bio-dynamic and raw. Much of the research that I have found is against dairy.
Just over the past few years raw dairy milk appeared in the health food stores, which is better than pasteurised milk, but this still doesn’t mean that raw milk and other dairy products are good for you.
Milk is for a tiny newborn calf. Whose idea was that the same thing is good for humans?
Apart from the fact that more and more people including children are lactose intolerant here are some issues why I avoid dairy.
By not consuming dairy products you can avoid getting gall stones. One you have a gallstone operation you will be advised to avoid dairy anyway. Why not avoid dairy now and save your precious gall bladder?
Other problems can be caused by eating dairy:
“Increased respiratory tract mucus production and asthma, digestive symptoms that millions of people suffer from every day like cramps, stomach pain, bloating, gas, diarrhoea and nausea. Dairy has also been labelled as a key trigger of IBS symptoms and other digestive condition.
Acne: A 2010 study published in Clinics in Dermatology indicates that milk contains anabolic steroids as well as growth hormones that add to the potency of milk as a stimulant of acne.
Reduced risk of cancer: A 2001 study conducted at Harvard School of Public Health found that a high calcium intake, mainly from dairy products, may increase prostate cancer risk by lowering concentrations of a hormone thought to protect against prostate cancer. Milk products may also contain contaminants, such as pesticides, which have carcinogenic potential, and growth factors, such as insulin-like growth factor 1, which have been shown to promote breast cancer cell growth.
Cancer’s link to your diet is very real and given that dairy appears to increase the risk of some types of cancers in certain people, a dairy-free diet may help mitigate the risk of specific types of cancer.
Also Decrease Oxidative Stress, Avoid milk Allergy and Sensitivity Reactions. “ Dr Axe
I substitute dairy for organic coconut products, which I find the safest and yummiest with a lot of health benefits. It is possible to get organic coconut yogurts, milk, cream, and even cheeses. All brands taste different and you need to try them to see which one you prefer, and which one doesn’t contain added sugar.
Recently I found an organic raw coconut chocolate yogurt mousse that tops everything; it is super yummy. It is even better than any king of the dairy mousse I ever had with all the natural goodness.
There are also other alternatives that are safe like, goat milk, almond milk, kefir, etc.
Until next… have a great day
